I am inspired by positive people who make every day count. I believe that everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good or bad luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Many things inspire me, from religious freedom to environmental protection, but I am inspired most by youth who have realized their own potential to initiate and produce positive changes in their environment. In addition, youth who have taken their own meager resources to create change in their community without the support of others (e.g. politicians and alike) have also been an inspiration to me. An issue that matters to me is [youth] leadership. As I observed the leadership pursuits of my peers, I saw how easily good intentioned-leaders became corrupted leaders, and how charismatic leaders became narcissistic. Some leaders that I admire in history are Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela who not only voiced the many injustices against people of African descent, but who also called for equality for all.
